Stabbing Suspect Turns Herself In to Police

At approximately 5 pm March 17, the suspect in the photo turned herself into police without incident. She was identified as Jade Lofton (19) of Lafayette. Lofton was booked into the correction center and charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. The case remains under investigation.
On March 17, 2010, at approximately 8:00 am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 800 block of Patterson regarding a disTurbinece. The victim, a 53 year old male, was involved in a disTurbinece with a female suspect. The female suspect produced a knife and attempted to stab the victim in the abdomen.
