Abbeville - Battle over road repair money

Property owners who live in towns and cities throughout the Parish pay a Road Maintenance Tax that is not being used to maintain roads in the towns and cities where they live.
The Police Jury collects thousands of dollars from property owners who live in Abbeville, Kaplan, Erath, Maurice, Gueydan and Delcambre and the money collected is used to take care of rural roads in Forked Island, Pecan Island, Henry, the North Vermilion area and other parts of the parish.
