Athletic Director Search Committee
KATC listed the members of the committee involved in hiring the new AD:
Dr. Anita Hazelwood, ’76, allied health professor and faculty representative to the Athletics Department, is chair of the committee.
Other members include:
Hollis Conway, ’91, Olympic medalist
Robert Daigle, chair of the Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Foundation
Karren Hays, ’80, past Alumni Association president
Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot, Head volleyball coach
Tony Robichaux, Head baseball coach
Denice Emokpae and DJ Sanders, Student representatives
Mike Alden, former Mizzou athletics director, is a special consultant to the search committee. He was on campus to meet with the committee this week, UL announced.

Wow. 2 coaches. I have never heard of someone searching to hire their own boss. That's a different concept.

I honestly don't know if this is the norm when it comes to picking new ADs. I have no problem with Tony being on this list though that's for sure.

I work for a large insurance company. I am a supervisor. The candidates for our immediate superior usually speak to us. We then have a chance to give hiring committee our thoughts. This has been pretty successful and gotten good business results.

We need an AD with national connections, and a wide expanding vision. No local person will have that qualification at this time. Let Alden come up with his recommendations and we go from there.
