Networking at post season events
I know there is a lot of love for Scotty on here but one would think that most ADs attend post season tournaments. So now that they have all shaken hands and meet face to face does this increase our chances of scheduling UH and Rice in other sports (football comes to mind)? Does anyone know if these meeting happend or how they normally happen?

Would they dig on playing a home game with an additional 15k in attendance?
And playing in front of 40K here?
I'd hope so.

Rice and UH do not want to play the Cajuns. Nothing that happened this weekend will change that. In fact our fan showing will hurt if anything making that happen.

You may be right but it was interesting to see one of the Rice fans post that he thought the Cajuns should be the next edition to CUSA. I didn't see any backlash against his post at the time either. Of course fans don't make the decisions.

Anyone with common sense, whether a fan or administrator, should come to the same conclusion. A blind man should see that!

With exception to UTEP we have played every school in CUSA West in the very recent past. I believe they damn well know the quality athletic program that we have here. I think it's the non-former-SBC schools in the East (ODU, UAB, Marshall) that have a harder time seeing what those in the West already know.
Re: Networking at post season events
This underlines the main problem with all the G5 conference members. They will never come together, unless it's UAB, and they don't have anything to gain from it. Rice and Houston could get huge bumps in gate revenue and lessened travel costs with return games in a pretty good travel destination. But...pride gets in the way. They cannot be seen getting beaten by us. They cannot be seen getting shown up by us. They cannot be seen as lower than we are. I get the hierarchy that USED to exist in college football that dictated this kind of stunted thought process. But those times are long gone. Time to eschew that thinking pattern as it is a dated relic of a bygone era. Us G5 need to stick together and make ourselves as attractive to the casual fan as possible. Everyone but ULM.
