Why is Masson still starting?
Seems to me the offense has a little more fire with McGuire in the huddle. I wouldn't say there's any proof he's a better QB, but at least I get excited when he comes into the game. He seems to be more willing to take chances. He's a little more like Michael Desormeaux - he scares me, but you know when he's in there, he can make things happen.
Re: Why is Masson still starting?
he couldnt play last week cause he was injured
Re: Why is Masson still starting?
McGuire has turf toe it happened on the second to last play before his last TD vs FAU.
My question is (vs FIU) why Gautier wasn’t used in the exact same manner McGuire had been used for the first 7 games of the year.
In the fall the knock on Gautier was supposedly his mechanics and foot placement (right) AND it was said he was too willing to run, not that he wasn't successful running but that he didn't grasp the system. Well with McGuire down why not use Gautier exactly like Bustle used McGuire, Red Zone running under center.
I don't understand.

The coaching staff doesn't understand either, thus the problem.

Re: Why is Masson still starting?
It's not that i don't like Masson because i do think that he is a very good athlete, however i do think that McGuire is the better player. While he may not be the best passer, he has decent enough accuracy and is not afraid to run if he has to. Masson on the other hand, seem either too timid to leave the pocket and has very little knowledge in running the option by pitching too early, otherwise we convert that 3rd and 3 or 4 yds to potentially go on and score to win in OT. I don't mind the 2 qb system as long as it isn't used the way we are using it, mcguire as the runner and masson as the passer.
