MY SUN BELT RANKINGS WEEK 6

Here you go Z. The numbers are starting to shape up. I listed the rating and records this time.

1) 7.45 Louisiana (3-2, 1-0)
2) 6.95 UL-Monroe (3-2, 2-0)
3) 6.87 Troy (3-2, 2-0)
4) 6.78 Middle Tennessee (3-2, 1-1)
5) 6.13 Florida International (1-4, 1-1)
6) 5.45 Arkansas State (1-4, 0-1)
7) 5.37 North Texas (1-4, 0-2)
8) 5.04 Florida Atlantic (0-5, 0-1)
9) 5.04 Western Kentucky (0-4, 0-1)

I will answer some of the questions that I know will come up.

We are number 1 based on our opponents.

Louisiana - 27 wins
Troy - 24 wins
UL-Monroe 23 wins

We are penalized for playing Southern. Just like ULM for playing Texas Southern, Western for playing Central Arkansas, and stAte for playing Miss Valley State.

Everyone can point out how Arkansas State should be rated higher because they almost beat Iowa. However, they only beat Mississippi Valley State. They need to start winning to be rated higher.

As for who should be in last place, it's still a tie. I put Florida Atlantic before Western to take one of your complaints away lol. It will stay a tie until one of them wins a game.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the number preceding each school's name and how do you compute it??

That is the rating used for the rankings.

I think you've got Troy too low and the WarTarps too high, but this weekend will tell us plenty.

I like this, like the power ranking on Ken Ramsey's site. Do you do like he does and assume all the power points except wins and losses from the future games? I probably didn't say that right, but he does someting like that to smooth the numbers out. On the last week his numbers match the LSHAA numbers, but untill then his are a little different.

Anyway, any ranking that has us ahead of Troy till be beat them is flawed, but I like it none the less.

Yes I count your future opponents wins in the rating. It makes it much easier to keep track of everything. Either way, the numbers are a little different, but the order pretty much stays the same.

And the LHSAA does counts future opponents also. I did the numbers for our district and matched on 2 out of 6. I don't understand how that happens, but it does.

I finished at Pecker Tech in 1990.
