Hall out as Cincy women's coach

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - J. Kelley Hall, who had served as the head coach of Cincinnati's women's basketball team for the last two seasons, will not return next year, the school revealed on Friday.

Hall put together a 26-33 mark overall at the helm. Cincinnati finished 2008-09 at 14-17 but 3-13 in the Big East. The Bearcats have gone just 7-26 in the conference during Hall's tenure.

"This was a difficult decision as coach Hall has a track record of coaching winning basketball," said director of athletics Mike Thomas. "After reviewing the last two seasons we are not moving forward as a program and we have not been competitive within the Big East. I felt that a change was necessary."

Hall had previously been head coach at the University of Louisiana at lafayette for five years. Prior to that, he spent time as an assistant with Louisville and Auburn, Cal-State Fullerton, Mississippi State, Alabama, and Troy.

His overall coaching mark stands at 316-151.

That's a terrible decision IMO. I dont know where they were before Kelley got there, but I'm sure they would have continued to improve.

ugh...salt in the wound. We got Rogers coming back, and the coach that built our program to actual contention is back looking for a job. Is it to late to fire rogers to make room for Hall?

I hope he is avaliable next season to return to UL.

Fire Rogers now, and sign Coach Hall to a 5 year contract. PLEASE!

I will 2nd that!

Cinn is having major $$ problems-- and is dropping one or more sports. THis may be the best thing that could happen to Hall.
