Recode: Apple to announce a wearable device at September iPhone event

The rumored Apple smartwatch, one of the most-anticipated products of the year, might be just around the corner. According to Recode, the company is planning to unveil a wrist-worn device at next month’s iPhone launch event, which is expected to take place on September 9. Recode’s John Paczkowski reports_the device will tap into Apple’s new fitness and connected home platforms. The HealthKit and HomeKit SDKs were announced at WWDC in June, but the company_has yet to show off its master plan behind the two frameworks.
