Port Allen lineman Marcus Keyes commits to Louisiana
Finding a place that feels like home when you’re away from home is a challenge for many high school seniors seeking the right college.
Port Allen High offensive lineman Marcus Keyes considers himself to be one of the lucky ones. That’s why the 6-foot-5, 260-pound senior-to-be committed to Louisiana on Monday.

He's going to need to put on at least 30 more pounds of muscle to play left tackle.

He can do that with his frame and arm length. He has the athletic ability to play outside in college, but anytime you get a kid that had offers from Missouri, Central Florida and Houston with his potential, we are getting the right type of athlete. He is still raw, but you don't get kids with athletic ability that weight 300-pounds at this level ready to play outside. They play at the best BCS programs and are applying to play in the NFL within 3 years.

I agree, he has the potential. Our line is averaging 280lbs. This includes freshmen that have just started real weight training at UL.
This kid will need at least 20-30 more pounds to be a starter at left tackle for UL. He will get thrown around if not.

His feet, athletic ability and frame are more important now then his weight. With his wingspan, he has the potential to grow another 1' or 2' over the next year. I don't care how strong you are at left tackle, you will be beat more often than not with speed at left tackle without good lateral movement. He will redshirt his freshman season to get stronger.
