Friday's first graduating class was only three, but the program has attracted 151 students with declared informatics majors in two years. The informatics program helps UL's computer science program — the School of Computing and Informatics — keep pace with new developments in the field, all at a time when higher education has been sustaining severe budget cuts in Louisiana.
