It's not official and won't be until March 1 by Sun Belt Conference rule, but UL's 2008 football schedule was apparently solid enough to allow distribution of pocket schedule cards at Wednesday's recruiting bash.
The Cajuns will play five home games, but only one of those Cajun Field appearances will come in the first six weeks of the season as UL plays five of its first six on the road.
"I don't ever look at it a lot until it's locked in," said Cajun coach Rickey Bustle. "If it ends up at five out of six, that's how we'll have to play them. But I think there's still some things that aren't totally locked in."

UL opens its season on Saturday, Aug. 30, at Southern Miss and will travel to face Big Ten power and Rose Bowl participant Illinois on Sept. 13. After the home opener and fifth Herbert Heymann Classic against Kent State on Sept. 20, UL will travel to Kansas State, UL-Monroe and North Texas in consecutive weekends.
After that stretch, the Cajuns will close with four of six at home. One of those is a non-conference home game against Texas-El Paso.
The schedule could still be adjusted, according to athletic director David Walker.
"We have to turn in our schedules to the conference by Dec. 31," Walker said. "They have until the end of February to negotiate television broadcasts, and that may involve moving games."
Walker said the conference will advise UL of any schedule changes by March 1.
