Re: Lady Cajuns enjoyed, expected this season's success
Bulldogs Grogan 4, Hurricanes Gold 1. The Bulldogs, who won behind Erin Daugherty, are a very solid team – all 2008 players except for two 2009 infielders – with three capable pitchers led by the very impressive Shelby Voelz. Heidi Pizer, just moved up from 16U, is one of the more athletic players we’ve seen and ranks as one of the best shortstops we’ve seen in any area of the country – wide-ranging, cannon of an arm, and a big bat, a tall blonde with brains. Indeed, several of the Bulldogs have very high SAT, GPA and ACT scores. Very recruitable.
Commnet from "Spy" in Seattle area about our West Coast signee - Heidi Pizer. Keep 'em coming.

I thought Pizer had already been recruited to UL! What gives?

I know, I know... I was just stirrin'! You know, off season for everything. :hot:
That looked like a quote from a writer up in the NW (without the quotation marks). And it may have been from some time ago (a few weeks??). Anyway, it is great to get some top caliber recruits in any sport. Course, SB has the biggest national pull and has really gotten to the elite level. (I know it's been there for a while, but it has finally really gotten on the national radar at last!)

The super-regional format made a huge impact in baseball and is doing the same in softball. Getting to the "sweet sixteen" now means almost guaranteed exposure. While the houston softball regional wasn't televised it still got a lot of press and I would imagine that we arent' far from seeing every softball regional televised. That is what gets you on the national radar consistently.
