Contractor Wanted For Fraud
<p>The Lafayette Sheriff's Department is looking for an Acadiana man, accused of theft and home improvement fraud. Shane Leblanc, also known as Shane Romero, claims to own Cajun Construction, LLC. But according to the Louisiana State Licensing Board, neither he, nor his alias or company are licensed.</p><p><br /> "He was pretty much just building a square here. We were planning on building a laundry room and a closet on the back of the home," said homeowner Alana Savoie.</p><p><br /> For two months now, Savoie's back yard in Broussard has remained a construction site, since the man she hired for the job, never finished the work.</p><p><br /> "We signed a contract on Thursday and Shane was supposed to be back on a Monday," said Savoie. "So we tore the backyard apart in a mad dash and then nothing ever happened."</p><p><br /> She knew "Shane," as Shane Romero, but deputies say, he's really Shane Leblanc and he's ripping people off. According to Savoie, she paid him nearly $3,000 for work that was never finished.
