Mark Etheridge with SEBaseball thinks at this point there are probably three regional sites still up for grab and thirteen teams vying for these spots. The Cajuns are in that mix. I generally agree with Mark's assessment but a lot of it can be boiled down to a few key ingredients.
1.) The Cajuns have to perform well in the conference tournament. More than likely they need to win it. Our adjusted RPI now sits at thirteen and we are just .0002 points behind Virginia.
2.) Texas A & M needs to continue their losing ways. After getting swept by Texas the door on their regional hosting has closed slightly. With an RPI just three slots up from us they need to perform well at the Big XII tournament. If they don't that opens the door for us.
3.) Ole Miss is ranked 14th right behind the Cajuns. Two and out for the Rebels would be great for the Cajuns. That opens another avenue for the Cajuns...O.. _
Over the last 4 to 6 all I have been hearing is that the Cajuns will not be a number one seed. Then, when it appeared that the Cajuns would reach one seed level .. the doom sayers said that the Cajuns would not get a regional site because their facilities were lacking -- the lighting needed upgrading, the field dips toward the fence, the press box is sub-par, dressing rooms were to small etc.
I will make this observation --- it the cajuns go and win the sun belt tournment they will host a regional.
By the way, how many will the "Tigue" hold?

Which of the above is not true?
The lighting needs upgrading - true
the field dips toward the fence - true
the press box is sub-par - true
dressing rooms are too small - true
Is is "doom saying" if it's true? I would agree with you if even half of the above was false. Our field is what it is.
If we get the bid, it won't be because of our field, it will be despite our field.

The NCAA already qualified the lights. Next year is when they will need to be upgraded.

The Cajuns have played the field that way for years. Including the 2000 regional. Not good but won't keep us from hosting.

This could be an issue.

Very true but once again won't keep us from hosting.

all these things wwere just as bad if not worse when we hosted before. If we take care of our business on the field they will not turn down us hosting for these reasons. Our park is in good enough shape to host. If we endu 44-14 with a tournament championship, we will host that is my prediction

3,755
Re: Regional at the Tigue
3,755? Is that all? What about the capacity of them roofs behind center field wall? That should add at least 5 or 10 to the capacity? ;) If the Tigue were sold out for something like this, I'd pay those people to sit on their roof.
God Bless
