The longer the USM search goes on....
The more nervous I get. Hud was on the record of saying he had no interest in this job. But this was before he said that he didn't think that filling the void of the Belt departures with a bunch of 1aa's was a good thing and saying that he did not want to play in a glorified 1aa conference to J during a break in last weeks show and that is where the Belt appears to be heading. I think after those comments if offered he may leave for equal money. Before last week one could say it would be a lateral move not anymore.
Anyone have any info on who they are interviewing and when a coach should be named?

Sure it is a lateral move. The conference realignment only has immediate meaning for the fans. Hud has a very good thing going on here and there is no need for him to go to USM to START OVER. He is setting up his resume here quite nicely.
Next year is another story.

I think that he might kinda see what he has coming back next year and think that we can be pretty good---Get B-Way,Harris , Carter, Reed, Pierce, Butler, Robinson, Sturgent, Brown, Figaro, Allen, Johnson,Thompson, Max, Pettis and lose 2 on the off line----Got Ringo, Juice, McCray, Fields , Alex, Anyama,Anderson,Hill , Johnson,Fouquier,Tovell, Lightfoot, Mobert, patt,Worthy,Riles,Jones, Watson,Barksdale,------OK also a ton of R-Shirts and transfer along with some JUCOs---Also a great punter coming in and some PKers to be named later---This guys is a PROGRAM and not just a team---Help me on this---Hud I think has had 25 games so far and he has won 17 of them--he has had now only 2 years actually on the job to recruit (I think that he came in DEC)---Cajun T thinks that this year could be VERY GOOD in recruiting---STAAAAYYYY just a little bit longer---

One would think Hud is looking past next year when thinking about his future. If he does not get a better job after next season he is then stuck in a glorified 1AA conference which will be harder to break out of.
So. Miss is one year removed from a conference title they are not void of talent just made a bad hire. They have had 15 winning seasons in a row prior to this year so not exactly Baldwin years to rebuild from.
I hope your right. I would love to see him here for a few more years.
Re: The longer the USM search goes on....
Hud to USM? I do not see it. If I were Hud I would look at our conference and say if we can go 11-1, I am getting a BCS slot and an SEC gig. IMHO 11-1 just got a lot easier.

Texas state beat Houston this year do I wouldn't over look them right away either. Aside from perception, the sunbelt could still very well be a better football conference than cusa
Aplin is a Sr. He will be gone next year.

Aplin was a senior this year.

You sure? I thought so too but someone on the radio the other day said he was a junior. Even better, but my point is aside from middle, who we didn't play. We lost the bottom 3 in the conference. Even without aplin, returning 2 time sunbelt champion.
