What time should UL football games start?
I have spoke to a lot of people that aren't too excited with 4 p.m. football at "The Swamp"
I miss playing football at night. I always liked 7 p.m. games at "The Swamp".
4 p.m. is just about the time I am relaxed in my tailgaiting spot.
Games ending at 7 p.m. leave a void.... Games ending at 10 p.m. carry on to downtown.
It's also hot as heck at 4 p.m. not as bad at 7 p.m.
What are you guys thoughts?

beleive it or not, but I heard from a pretty rliable source that the reason for the 4pm kickoffs are to save electrical costs and not have to run the lights as long. I hate to admit it, but I can beleive some BS like that from our administration.

Guys, this is the time that Coach Bustle wants the games to start. The guys get up, eat breakfast, have a few hours to kill, eat lunch, head to the field, get game ready. Much less time to lose focus.
Much less time to have to kill. This is the way it was done at Va. Tech.
We will all just have to adjust.

But I don't think it will help attendance at all. First of all it's flat out hot and if you sit on the student side you have to look straight into the sun through 3 quarters.
I think football coaches can be a little too into their routines. I'm sorry but it doesn't make a difference if the players have 2 hours to kill or 4 hours to kill. Preperation is most important mon-fri during practice, not the day of the game. At that point you have done all you can do and a start time won't change that.

I agree in a way but if thr players and coachs want it then who are we to say anything. Also why not use the advantage that our players play in this heat everyday.

If it means more wins at home, I'm down with it. I'm going to be there regardless and if we continue winning at home the attendance will rise.

Start time doesn't have nearly the impact on attendance as the won-loss record.
As far as this poll goes, I like 7 p.m. games in September through early October, then 4 p.m. from Homecoming on.

I was against 4 pm games but now I LIKE EM. You get to the Field at 12 or 1 pm , start partying , eat and visit friends. game starts at 4 pm ( depending on lightning, ha), the game is over at 7 or 7:30, you eat again and visit. If the game is over at 10 pm , you don't have time for anything afterwards if you are a baby boomer. Staying up late ain't my idea of fun anymore. The game at 4 and over at 7 gives one time to enjoy some time afterwards and the have time to clean up and it not be 11 or 12 pm. Hey, thats how I look at it.
Now the bad side of 4 pm is that so many students are probably still working and can't make the games. One has to make arrangements with boss or co-worker to switch. if there is a will there is a way.
